BBQ Dinner for The Belanger Family

WHERE: At The Rochester Cafe, inside our dining room and on the porch.

WHAT: Chef Trinity and I are hosting a BBQ Dinner feast to raise money for The Belanger Family. There is a Go Fund Me started and we have a donation jar at our host counter inside The Cafe, but we want to do more. So, we’re going to! We are still planning the full menu, but what we know for sure is that there will be smoked brisket and pork from North Hollow Farm, a variety of sides and some amazing desserts made by Zoe Belanger and her friends! Iced tea, lemonade and water are all included in your ticket price as well.

Gathering over food and good company is a small town Vermont staple. So is helping a neighbor in need. Especially here in Rochester! ALL the money raised by the BBQ dinner and Caribbean Raffle will go directly to Eric & Amanda.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 1st.

WHAT TIME: Folks are welcome to start arriving between 4 and 5pm. Drinks will be available for purchase starting at 4pm. BBQ will be served from 5pm to 7pm. Folks are welcome to stay until 9pm, but BBQ stops being served at 7pm and drinks stop being served at 9pm.

HOW: Please try your best to pre-pay for your BBQ Dinner meals at The Cafe anytime before June 1st, cash or checks are ideal. If you’re paying with a credit or debit card, I have to add 3% to your ticket price to cover card processing fees. If paying with a card the price is increased to $51.50 per person or $154.50 for a family of 4.

So, that said, CASH is really ideal!!

Your name and phone number will be recorded when you purchase your meals. Once you arrive at the BBQ, you’ll check in, we’ll cross your name off the list and you’re all set to enjoy! Easy peasy!

IS TO GO AVAILABLE? Yes. TO GO will be available. Please let us know when you purchase your BBQ Dinner meals that you are going to take your meals TO GO. Once you arrive and check in, we’ll box up your meals for you! We are not pre-scheduling pick ups, just come by between 5 and 7. Again, easy peasy!

WHY: Eric was severely injured when his truck slipped off a jack and caused significant damage to his head. Since his accident Eric has absolutely amazed us all, even his medical team, with his strength, determination and recovery progress. He has made it very clear that he is going to overcome his injury and, before we know it, go home to his family.

We can help. We can’t change it or make it go away, but we CAN help and if we can, we will but we need the community to join us in doing so!

Eric, Amanda, Zoe and Ollie have a long road ahead of them and financial stress shouldn’t be something they need to think about. We have a knack for coming together to do amazing things and helping this family is next up. When we organize and come together I truly believe there isn’t a thing this valley can’t achieve.

PRICE: We’re asking $50 per person or $150 per family of 4 for the BBQ dinner which includes dessert and iced tea, lemonade or water. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. If you want to help but $50 is a little steep, please just donate what you can and join us! If you’re in a position to give more, please do so.

The more we raise, the less this family has to worry.

WAIT, WHAT? BEER AND WINE AT THE CAFE?: YES! It’s true! I just applied for and received our 1st Class Liquor License here at The Rochester Cafe! This means we’ll be serving beer and wine at the BBQ. The name “Liquor License” is a bit misleading, because we will not be serving hard alcohol. A selection of beers and wines by the glass will be available for purchase. These drinks can be consumed on the porch and inside only, please keep that in mind while mingling 😉 Iced tea, lemonade, or water are all included with your BBQ Dinner ticket price.

THE CARIBBEAN RAFFLE!

We are raffling off 1 week of lodging (airfare not included) at Debbie and Doug Gortons Beachside Hotel on the island of St.Maarten in the Caribbean. This is a private 8 unit hotel directly on the beach, with it’s own private beach! All units have kitchens, small living rooms and every single room has a view of the Caribbean ocean with its own outdoor patio. Debbie and Doug have very generously gifted a weeks stay at the hotel to raffle off and donate ALL proceeds to Eric and Amanda!

Raffle Tickets are available for purchase at The Rochester Cafe and will be available for purchase up until 5PM at the BBQ Dinner! We’ll draw a raffle winner at 6pm!! A valid US Passport is required to travel from the US to St.Maarten. Stephanie, Dane, Debbie and Doug are all more than happy to assist with your travel plans! SOMEONE is going to win a free weeks stay in the Caribbean, it might as well be YOU!!
